Protein is definitely important but effective muscle builders know exactly what and the right amount of nutrition to consume. Protein is the building blocks of muscle. In fact, much of what makes up your muscle is protein. Protein is necessary to prevent muscle breakdown and to feed your muscles with the building blocks to growth.

To build muscle we need to realize that, we have to perform enough volume so we breakdown muscle then build new muscle. That being said I usually advise sets and reps like 4 sets of 8 reps or 6 sets of 4 reps. In order to build muscle fast you have to persevere and push your limits until you reach what you desire.
